Melanie Chesney

Melanie Chesney was appointed Deputy Auditor General effective June 11, 2010. Ms. Chesney assists the Auditor General in managing the Office’s day-to-day operations. Her other responsibilities include strategic planning, internal communications, and the development and implementation of new functions assigned the Office by the Legislature. 

Ms. Chesney previously served as director of the Performance Audit Division from 2001 until her appointment. Ms. Chesney is a past president of the Western Intergovermental Audit Forum and continues to serve on the Forum's executive committee. Ms. Chesney has a Master's Degree in Justice Studies from Arizona State University and a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and Social Change and Development from the University of Wisconsin — Green Bay.
